Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes, with very few exceptions. Very young children may have difficulty, and also people with severe brain damage. People may not be hypnotised against their will. Other than that, we find the ‘trick’ to hypnotising someone is spending time with them to find the best approach to working with them. We won’t do the same thing with everyone.

I am strong minded and strong willed, can i be hypnotised?

Only if you want to be, but not because of your relative “strength” of mind. We understand that there are parts of us that want to change, and parts of us that are happy with the way things are. While we accept that this is often the situation, we assume that if you’ve booked a session then you want our help. It would be a waste of your time and money if you were to resist that help. We’ll always tell you if we don’t think hypnosis is right for you.

Will i forget what has been said in a session?

Very occasionally, spontaneous hypnotic amnesia does occur after a session, however this is uncommon, and most people will remember what is said to them during a session.

How long does each session take?

The first  consultation is usually 1.5 hours. However, the first consultation for drug and gambling addictions is 2 hours in duration.

The second and subsequent consultations are usually an hour each.
Initial consultation for STOP SMOKING is 2 hours, and reinforcement session is 1 hour.

How many sessions will I need?

This is best answered at the first consultation because it depends entirely on each individual case. However, as a guide most clients need between 3 and 8 sessions, depending on the complexity and intensity of their condition.

Is Hypnotherapy Safe?

Yes, this system is completely safe! Hypnotherapy does not work against your will; it only works on people who want to change.

Will I be in control throughout the session?

Yes, you will remain fully aware and in control. You will be able to terminate the session at any time if you wish. Please understand that you can’t be made to do anything against your will.

How will I know that the hypnosis is working?

The results will be apparent after the very first session. You will definitely feel better and in case you are doing the Quit Smoking Program then you will no longer crave cigarettes or even have withdrawal symptoms.
